NEXTERA

Ponderosa Windfarm Build

Balko, OK

On this 100 square mile project, Chiron Installed 400,000’ of fiber optic cabling between 100 wind turbines, meteorological weather tower and the new power substation via blown fiber method. Upon completion of cable placement, over 2,500 connectors were hand terminated, and OLTS and ORL testing was performed within all assigned turbine locations.

SH 7, 144ct Fiber Relocation

Centerville, TX

This was a full-service Turnkey project that covered a new underground construction build of 4 segments ranging 68,445LFT. 
Services included directional drilling and installing 68,445’ of (2) 1.25’’ HDPE innerducts, marker posts, fiber testing stations, all required hand holes and 70,000’ of single mode 144ct fiber optic cable was installed by the blown fiber method. Upon completion of construction, fiber splicing crews worked during maintenance windows successfully cutting service over from the old 144ct back bone cable to the new one. (9) total splice points were created totaling 1,296 total splices on the new cable system.

Progressive Insurance

The Woodlands, TX

Chiron Communications provided Structure cabling for the 6th floor suite North of Houston TX. We Installed over 300 segments of Category 6 and 6a cables for Network computers, IP Phones and Wireless Connections. Our Team also completed the full build out for the Network Cabling Room which we installed all the cables to the Network Rack. Finally, we were tasked to assist with the placement of the desk Monitors and Phones for the entire suite.

METRO

Houston Metro Light Rail Expansion (Phase II)

Houston, TX

This was a full-service Turnkey project that covered a new underground construction build of 4 segments ranging 68,445LFT.  As part of the $1.23 billion Houston Metro Light Rail expansion, Chiron delivered end-to-end connectivity across four new corridors (North, East, Southeast, Downtown) spanning over 30 miles. We installed underground fiber optic splice enclosures and distribution panels and refurbished existing ones, ensuring reliable communication between signal cabinets and remote access points. We completed all work ahead of schedule, meeting Houston Rapid Transit’s strict safety, quality, and compliance requirements.

CENTERPOINT ENERGY

Turnkey Communication Services

Houston, TX

Under CenterPoint Energy’s Master Contract, Chiron supported major communication initiatives, including Broadband Over Power (BBOP) and the Advanced Metering System (AMS). Our work included fiber and copper cabling for power plants, emergency restorations, and relocations. We provided complete turnkey solutions, from engineering and construction to splicing and final documentation, establishing a strong, lasting network backbone for CenterPoint’s services.

TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

Traffic Signal Cabinet Build

Texas

Working with TxDOT, Chiron completed the installation of 16 fiber optic enclosures and 400 fiber splices, covering an 8-span, 3-mile route in less than two months. We utilized Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) and Power Meter testing to ensure robust, bi-directional network performance.

TRANSCORE

State Highway 99 Grand Parkway

Houston, TX

On the State Highway 99 Grand Parkway project, Chiron adhered to a stringent four-tier testing protocol to enable toll plazas, cameras, dynamic message signs, and communication hubs. Our team completed 250 splices and built 20 enclosures across 13 spans, delivering seamless connectivity for TransCore’s toll infrastructure.

LEVEL 3 COMMUNICATIONS

SMU Backbone Cable Relocation

Texas

Under a national contract, Chiron supported Level 3 Communications in relocating backbone cables at Southern Methodist University. The project involved 2,160 fiber splices across two 864-count and one 432-count fiber cables, with testing performed at multiple wavelengths to ensure high-performance connectivity between sites.

CENTURYLINK

1950 Stemmons Expansion (Transport)

As part of CenturyLink’s statewide maintenance contract, Chiron completed an extensive installation and refurbishment of fiber enclosures in Dallas and Fort Worth, TX. This included certification testing on numerous fiber reels, confirming the network’s readiness for expansion projects with the US Federal Aviation Administration.

BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, FIREARMS, AND EXPLOSIVES (ATF)

Structured Cabling

Houston, TX

For the ATF’s new seized evidence office in Houston, TX, Chiron installed and tested 32,000 feet of Cat5e voice, data, radio, and coaxial cabling, along with all necessary racks and equipment. Following completion, our team received commendations for outstanding service and workmanship from Four Points Communication Services.
